Outreach’s WPSU Penn State seeks an Administrative Support Assistant to perform a wide variety of administrative and office functions. This position provides primary administrative support to our Development and Membership departments and backup support to other WPSU departments. Typical work activities include, but are not limited to, management of the daily operations for the Directors of Business Support, Individual Giving and related staff, as well as processing of membership and underwriting gifts and pledges, monitoring development budgets, preparing financial reports and spreadsheets, assisting with special events, handling a wide range of confidential matters; coordinating the Director’s calendars and travel schedules; compilation and/or research of information; editing correspondence; responding to requests for information; and attending meetings. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with financial management systems is highly desired. Analytical and computer skills with specific proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel and database management is required. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, highly organized and a self-starter and should demonstrate outstanding customer service orientation, excellent oral and written communication skills, and sound analytical skills and judgment. In addition, the candidate must use a proactive approach to managing work and solving problems, quickly adapt to competing priorities and have the ability to work effectively with people of diverse cultural backgrounds. WPSU Penn State is seeking a Marketing Strategy Specialist (Digital Media Marketing Specialist) with a passion for public media and four or more years of experience in brand social media, digital marketing, and online audience engagement. This position reports to the Director of Marketing for WPSU and will work closely with staff representing events, membership, digital content, and creative/multimedia.

The primary duties of the Digital Media Marketing Specialist are to lead the development of WPSU’s social media growth strategy, coordinate a station-wide social media content calendar, review consumer information to develop digital engagement plans for WPSU programs and projects, articulate the marketing strategy to the creative team for content development, create and deploy day-to-day content to support membership growth goals and programming and events awareness, and provide status reports on marketing effectiveness. Experience with Google Analytics and Google Marketing Integration tools is a plus. The digital media marketing specialist may lead a project team and/or be involved in projects at a tactical level with producers and station leadership. Supervision of one or more undergraduate interns is also a possibility. The typical working hours are Monday through Friday. The flexibility to participate in live TV productions and events at night or on weekends two to three times a month is required. Operate under the direction of a Supervisor, Producer/Director, and/or client to realize the creative vision of video and audio projects, such as regional broadcasts, national broadcasts, athletic game day videos, and documentaries. Set-up and operate video recording, audio, and lighting equipment, in studio and on location. Apply the technical aspects of light, lenses, filters, and camera settings to achieve the desired effects. Use cameras in any of several different camera mounts, such as stationary, track-mounted, or crane-mounted. Participate in surveys for remote production locations and in the planning of production design and approach, settings, lighting, microphone placement, and cable runs. Determine availability of power for lighting and audio needs. Organize raw footage; prepare and revise edit decision lists, as needed. Edit video and audio materials. Log and archive materials according to established data asset management guidelines. Coordinate and provide Producer/Director with production materials such as music cuts, stills, graphics, and visual elements for studio and remote production needs. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, such as camera pedestals, lighting equipment, audio equipment, and other professional equipment. Notify maintenance technicians in a timely manner when equipment is not functioning properly. Maintain and update equipment checklists, tracking equipment condition and availability. Make recommendations to Supervisor when stocks of parts, components, or other materials need to be replenished, and when new equipment, editing platforms, etc., may be needed. Evaluate completed products for adherence to established technical standards. Log required information on production order forms, timesheets, discrepancy reports, and other report forms as required. Answer questions for, train, and provide direction to other technical-service and part-time employees/students, as needed. Operate University vehicles. Job Requirements: Requires the use of shop mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, various types of adjustable measuring instruments and the training generally applicable in a particular or specialized occupation. Equivalent to 1 to 3 years applied trades training. Over 1 year up to and including 3 years of effective experience. Shift: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Days Off: Saturday, Sunday NOTE: THIS POSITION REQUIRES THAT YOU OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE AS A PART OF YOUR JOB DUTIES. Our busy and growing multimedia team seeks a web development talent who enjoys learning new techniques, has a strong understanding of user experience, and loves the web. This job bridges design and development, but your focus will primarily be HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and content management system (CMS) installation, configuration, and customization. Core CMS development platforms include Craft, ExpressionEngine, and WordPress which all utilize PHP/MySQL. Core scripting tasks utilize MVC frameworks (Angular.js/React) and JavaScript (jQuery, vanilla javascript). Familiarity with other front-end frameworks (Bootstrap) and CSS preprocessors required. It would be a bonus if you have skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Drupal experience, knowledge of web accessibility, and understanding of web optimization techniques. You will create templates and prototypes at the beginning of development while working with content experts, designers, and developers to complete the implementation and launch.
